Raw materials used:
E-glass yarns and twines, textured E-glass yarns.
Our impregnations improve the resistance of the gaskets to mechanical stresses, such as abrasion. At the same time, the gaskets become stronger and more compact. However, the characteristics vary greatly depending on the type and impregnation. All impregnations we use are free of solvents; depending on the composition, organic components may be present.
Temperature resistance:
The temperature resistance depends largely on the type of stress and thus on the application. This particularly includes the application temperature, the duration of exposure and the frequency of exposure above the recommended continuous application temperature. We therefore recommend a continuous application temperature of up to 450° C. For short-term higher temperature loads, we recommend a temperature of 600° C not to be exceeded. Prolonged stress in the range of the lower stress-relief temperature (617° C) or frequent, short-term stresses above this will reduce residual stresses in the glass. This leads to a permanent loss of mechanical properties. Gaskets are wearing parts that can also be damaged by mechanical stress. To ensure proper function, we recommend regular inspection and, if necessary, replacement of the gasket.
